There are a wide range of animal lovers in a lot of different places. We visit a number of residential care homes with our animals as part of therapeutic animal sessions.

Animal assisted therapy is a great way to relieve stress whilst having fun with inquisitive and intelligent animals. The main goal of using animals for therapeutic means is to help improve social, emotional and cognitive function through meaningful interaction with animals. Here at Crazy Creatures North East we take pleasure in sharing our animals with people who reside in residential care homes and helping to provide an effective yet alternative means of therapy.

Animal assisted therapy is a great way for the elderly and people in residential care homes to remain mentally and physically active. It is important to keep the mind stimulated and the body moving and animals can help to do just that.  By helping to remove fixation from the negative, an animal therapy session brings new experiences which can help to relieve stress and anxiety. This positive and fun environment really helps to allow for true relaxation which is enjoyable for both the patient and the animals.
